Female bust carved in marble. A young woman with soft features and withdrawn attitude appears wrapped in soft cloths that cover her head and shoulders. The gauze of the veil is transparent, revealing the hair, which shows the great technical mastery of the sculptor. On the chest, soft drapery breaks and intertwines, creating a play of folds in keeping with the lady's delicacy. Adolfo Luchini was an Italian sculptor specialising in marble, who mainly worked on female subjects. He belongs to the late Impressionist and pre-Modernist period.
