Title: ADVENTURES INTO THE UNKNOWN No. 28
Place Published:
Publisher:ACG [Indicia: Best Syndicated Features, Inc.]
Date Published: February, 1952
Description:

CGC certified: G/VG (3.0). Cream to off-white pages. Cover: Ken Bald. Stories and art: Lin Streeter, Pete Riss, King Ward, Al Camy, others. GPAnalysis: No reported sales in this grade. A 4.0 sold for $165 in January 2021.

A gunsel and his gal are gripped by a big bony hand. ACG's Adventures into the Unknown was the first regularly-published horror comic book (and one of the longest-running, surviving the Code and lasting until 1967). The premiere issue pre-dates EC's first ongoing horror title by over a year (although EC's first horror story, "Zombie Terror" from Moon Girl #5, was published roughly contemporaneously with Adventures into the Unknown #1 in Fall, 1948).

A deluxe limited edition of 12 hardcover catalogues is available, in addition to a small number of softcovers. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $40, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Eight of the 12 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now. To order, contact ivan@pbagalleries.com.

Consignments welcome for PBA's Spring 2022 Comic Book sale. Top prices for Pre-Code Horror, Golden Age, Silver Age, original art and ephemera. Find out why PBA is the new fan-fave of comics auctioneers. "This is some of the best commentary I've yet seen on the quality of the content of comic books... Priceless." — R. Crumb.
