AFRICAN MAASAI MORAN SPEAR

Maasai Moran spear with distinct long blade that measures approximately 32 - 1/2" in length. The blade is affixed to a short wood haft and is followed by a counterbalance. The counterbalance measures approximately 34 - 1/2" and the overall length measures approximately 77". These long-bladed spears are typically carried by younger adults. CONDITION: The metal exhibits heavy areas of heavy pitting and delamination is obvious from hand forging. There are areas of surface rust and oxidation, especially on the counterbalance. The haft exhibits handling wear and a crack that travels the length of the wood. Overall fair. JLD Blade Length: 32 - 1/2" Overall Length: 77"
