[ translate ]

George Caleb Bingham (1811-1879)

County Election

1854

The nice, strong impression of line and mezzotint engraving after the original painting by George Caleb Bingham is titled 'The County Election' and lettered 'Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1854 by in the clerk's office of the district court for the southern clerks office in the District Court for the Southern District of New York' immediately below the image. Further annotated PAINTED BY G.C. BINGHAM in type below the image and engraved by John Sartain along with ENGRAVED BY JOHN SARTAIN. A line of type along the bottom edge reads PUBLISHED BY GOUPIL & CO NEW YORK-PARIS-LONDIN-BERLIN.

Image size 22 x 30, frame measures 33 x 40.5 inches.

AN ABSENTEE BID PLACED IN ADVANCE COULD LOSE TO A LIVE BID OF EQUAL AMOUNT PLACED LATER. First bid precedence is not possible in auctions that incorporate live bidding via multiple online platforms, live bidders participating in the sale room and live telephone bidders. The only ways to avoid the possibility of losing the bid in this manner is to attend the live auction or bid absentee with plus-one option.

Without proof of exemption, be aware that internet sales tax applies to all Internet transactions and local sales tax may apply to local pick-up transactions.

We happily provide seamless in-house packing and shipping services on nearly everything we sell.

Until further notice, we cannot offer international shipping in-house.
Condition Report: Apparently the condition is very good, intact, no damage, repair, punctures or tears. There is an outline of toning that frames the outer edge of the sheet, there is some scattered light foxing upper left. This work has not been examined outside the frame.
