An extremely fine and well observed early 18th century copy after Lorenzo Lotto, an Italian painter of the High Renaissance, active mainly in the Veneto region of Italy. His paintings were characterised by a strong sense of individualism, vivid colours, and complex symbolism. As an artist, he was influenced by various artistic and cultural trends of his time, including the High Renaissance, the Venetian School, and the Northern Renaissance.

One of Lotto's early influences was the High Renaissance master, Andrea Mantegna. Later in his career, Lotto was influenced by the Venetian School, particularly the work of Giorgione and Titian. This is evident in his use of colour, which became more luminous and vibrant, as well as his interest in capturing the effects of light and shadow.Click here to share:
