Depicting Jacob being abandoned in an empty well by his brothers. Signed in the lower right "H Fryer fecit. 18--", the last two letters in the date are no longer visible due to slight loss to the extreme lower right corner. In period carved wood and gesso gilded frame. Provenance: A Mount Clemens, MI private collection. The House Galleries, Sheffield.
