Frame H 25.5" W 25.25" Provenance: Donald Morris Gallery, Inc., Detroit (with label affixed verso); Estate of Jack Faxon, Michigan Senator and creator of the Michigan Council for the Arts. An important figure in American post-Abstract Expressionism, Al Held is best known for his sharp contours, geometric forms and clarity of vision. Held displayed a distinctive embrace of depth and spatial illusion that defies neat categorization.
