Après avoir débuté sa carrière équipé d'un casque français de marque GPA, Alain PROST fera confiance à l'américain BELL où au japonais ARAI. C'est la tête coiffée de cet ARAI qu'il remporte 5 Grand Prix en 1990 et notamment le 100ede la Scuderia Ferrari sur le circuit Paul Ricard. Vice Champion du Monde à l'issue de la première de ses deux saisons dans sa combinaison de pilote Ferrari, il a dédicacé ce casque en italien à son ingénieur : "A Cleto. Per il ricordodellastagione 90" ; " A CLETO, en souvenir de la saison 90 ". Ce casque est accompagné d'une paire de gants Stand 21 également utilisée en course en 1990.
