A superb, dark and evenly-printed Meder II b-c impression of this very scarce, early woodcut, with the razor-thin break in the block over the horse's hoof. Cross on three hills in a circle watermark (Meder 157, which he dates to the mid-1500s). Trimmed on the outer edge of the black border line.We have found fewer than 15 other impressions at auction in the past 30 years. Bartsch 131; Meder 265.
