Four pieces, including a typed letter (February 1958) from Beatrice Rychner to a friend, Nina, enclosing an informational Alcatraz booklet (Washington: Bureau of Prisons, 1952) and a "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" program and dinner menu from the prison (Alcatraz, 1955).
The booklet is inscribed on the inside cover: "A reminder of your friends on Alcatraz / Capt. & Mrs. Rychner." Rychner's husband, Emil Rychner, is listed on the dinner menu as Captain of Alcatraz.
With the original mailing envelope addressed by Mrs. E. E. Rychner from Alcatraz Island.
