ALICE BAILLY (1872-1938)
Alice Bailly hat sich durch ihre Aufenthalte in Paris intensiv mit dem Fauvismus, Kubismus und Futurismus auseinandergesetzt. 1914 kehrte sie aufgrund des 1. Weltkrieges in die Schweiz zurück. Dank ihrer guten Kontakte zu Mäzenen wie Werner Reinhart (1884-1951) und dem Kunstverein in Winterthur, stellte sie regelmässig Werke in Ausstellungen aus. 1920 kehrte sie nach Paris zurück und liess sich drei Jahre später in Lausanne nieder, wobei sie ihr Atelier in der französischen Hauptstadt behielt.
While living in Paris, Alice Bailly devoted her attention to the Fauvism, Cubism and Futurism movements. With the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, she returned to Switzerland. With the support of her friend, the art patron Werner Reinhart (1884-1951), and with her connections to the Kunstverein in Winterthur, her works were exhibited regularly. In 1920, she returned to Paris, but settled in Lausanne three years later, although she kept her atelier in the French capital.
