Octavo with 343 pp. Original contemporary publisher’s cloth binding in synthetic percaline, with Art Nouveau decoration in its artistic gilt tools. Gilt lettering announcing the author and the title of the work. Top edge gilt. Utopian novel in which the author describes his vision for a new Hebrew nation-society, far ahead of its time. Text in easily readable German Gothic type. The binding was bevelled from the outset and shows slight wear. Endpapers in beautiful gold floral paper, typical of the Germans. It bears on the smooth spine a royal label of His Majesty the King, as well as another larger label with the royal arms of Savoy, with the numbering of the Private Library in Italy. Very rare work in first edition and, given its original condition, a collector’s piece of the highest bibliographical interest.
