AMERICAN BUFFALO POTTERY ROOSEVELT BEARS CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF TWO, each with polychrome images of the bears and gilding. Printed mark "By Permission of the copyright / Buffalo Pottery / Edw. Stern & Co. Inc. 1906". Buffalo Pottery Company, Buffalo, New York. Circa first quarter 20th century.

Condition: Mostly undamaged, except both with moderate crazing, some spots of light discoloration, and a few minute losses to decal decoration; one with area of roughness on underside.

Size: 10 1/8" D.

Provenance: From the estate of Holton Rosenquist, Bradford, IL.Catalogue Note: "The Roosevelt Bears, Their Travels and Adventures", written by Seymour Eaton and illustrated by V. Floyd Campbell, first appeared in 1905 as a newspaper series and follows Teddy-B and Teddy-G through their adventurous trip to the eastern United States.
