One depicts a group of 9 posing in traditional garb. Another shows a family posing outside a tipi; a very faint caption in the negative identifies them as Gros Ventres, a tribe at Belknap Reservation not far east of Fort Assinniboine. The last shows a large group of about 60 gathered in an open field, perhaps to collect rations. with--a photograph of a painting of an Indian scene, 4 1/2 x 8 inches, on original plain mount with inked stamp of W.H. Culver, Maiden, MT, circa 1885.
