Dark Quarter Sawn Oak Oblong Table with Single Drawer, by Forg & Miller of East Cambridge, Mass., circa 1910. The molded edge top has an inset incised band, the bowed fluted skirt carved in relief with green man masks, set on a trestle base with simple stretcher tying together the ornately carved ends, consisting of gryphon form legs, a central circular opening supporting full body carved birds of prey (different at each end), the trestles resting on boldly carved lion paw feet. 30" x 31 1/2" x 60 1/2". Old repairs, bits missing, loss to finish.Original label in drawer reads "Forg & Miller, Architectural and Ornamental Wood Carving, 29 Otis Street, East Cambridge, Mass. Telephone 553-W Cambridge".
