dating: Mid 19th Century provenance: Papal States, Smooth-bore, round, 18 mm cal. barrel, stamped and numbered, with fore-sight and clutch for a bayonet. Tang with rear sight notch and model marking. Forward spring lock, stamped 'S' under a star and 'MX'. Wooden, full stock with remains of pontifical stamp on the butt side and traces of other marks. Iron mounts and ramrod. length 147 cm.
