by 'HENRY WILKINSON PALL MALL LONDON', serial number 44353, the curved blade etched with scrolling foliage, a crowned 'GVR' cypher and the initials 'E.S.H', regulation hilt with gilt guard cast and chased with foliage centred on a crossed sword and baton, ivory grips, in steel scabbard, 80cm blade; together with a pocket book of 'COMMON PRAYER' with 'E.S. Herbert... Sept. 1895' and pages thereafter listing campaigns in his hand, and 'CHURCH SERVICES...', 'from his affectionate uncle..1875' (3)
