AN 1881 QIANJIANG PORCELAIN PLAQUE

rectangular, featuring a garden scene with a man and woman, the pair surrounded by blooming purple foliage, inscribed and dated in black and red underglaze to the upper left edge; dimensions: 37.5 x 25 cm (14 3/4 x 9 7/8 in.)

CONDITION
The plaque appears in good condition with rough edges. The glaze is uneven. A very fine crack to the upper edge. All consistent with age. Inspection under UV light shows an even layer of varnish but no apparent sign of restoration.

Session II: European, North and South American, and Ethnographic Art, Antiques, Jewelry, and Design, lots 500-827
