AN ANTIQUE IMPERIAL RUSSIAN JEWELLED DIAMOND AND ENAMEL BROOCH, VASILY KANGIN CIRCA 1900 designed as a Catherine II five rouble coin featuring a bust of Catherine II to the front underneath the words "By the Grace of God, Catherine II, Empress, Autocrat of all the Russians" in Cyrillic, against a red guilloche enamel and surrounded by a border of old cut diamonds. Workmasters marks for Vasily Kangin of St Petersburg circa 1899-1908, with later French control marks. Diameter 4.5cm. Weight 29.1g.
