AN ASSEMBLED PAIR OF MEISSEN FIGURES OF HARLEQUIN AND COLUMBINE, CIRCA 1750

modeled by Johann Joachim Kändler, Harlequin playing a bagpipe and Columbine, a hurdy-gurdy, each seated on a rockwork and low mound base applied with flowerheads and leaves.
heights 5 ¾ in. and 5 ¼ in.
14.6 cm and 13.3 cm

Condition Report:
Both figures are completely covered in old overspray. There is restoration to his hat, both hands, the ends of the pipe, to the bow and along his left thigh, to several of the applied leaves of the base. She has been broken through the waist and restored back. There is restoration to her hat, her left arm and the hurdy-gurdy, her shoes and the applied flowers and leaves. The end of her right sleeve is chipped away and there are some very minor nibble chips to the edges of both bases.
