AN ASSEMBLED SEVRES APPLE-GREEN-GROUND PART DINNER SERVICE, CIRCA 1760-75

each piece reserved with panels of colorful clusters of flowers or flowers and fruit within tooled-gilt palm frond borders supporting a continuous undulating tooled-gilt floral garland, comprising: a pair of oval monteiths (seaux crénelés), possibly later-decorated, twenty-three plates (assiettes), four oval small tureens, covers and fixed stands (sucriers de Monsieur le Premier), a pair of cups and covers (pots à jus) and a pair of lobed stands (plateux Bouret). Together with a pair of shell-shaped dishes (compotiers coquilles), a pair of oval dishes (compotiers ovales) and three circular dishes (compotiers ronds), probably decorated in England, interlaced L's, the seaux crénelé and four assiettes with letter O for 1767 and painters' marks for Jean-Jacques Pierre, le jeune (one seau and one assiette), Dominique Joffroy (the other seau), Charles-Louis Méreaud, le jeune, or Mme Genévieve-Louise Bouillat (two assiettes) and unattributed script letter E (one assiette); the remaining pieces with various other date, painters' and incised marks. 46 pieces

Condition Report:
One shell-shaped dish with a hairline crack at the handle stabilized by three rivets. The other shell-shaped dish with some staining and speckling to underside.

One tureen on fixed stand with a firing crack, one cover with a crack to the cover. Another with a hairline crack to edge of fixed stand.
One monteith with a matt interior but does not appear to be restored. Both with scattered areas of speckling. One monteith with glazed-over flat chips to the edges of the handles. Possibly indicating some decoration on the monteiths is of a later date.
One lobed stand with two small chips to edge of foot.

There is typical stacking wear to glaze at the cavettos of the plates. One plate with extensive speckling on footrim, probably later decorated. One circular dish with speckling to underside. Possibly redecorated. Another circular dish with crazing to green ground.

As the service has been assembled, there are differences in the tone of green throughout, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Overall in generally good appearance.
