AN DU 安都 (Beijing, China, b. 1963) Ducks Ink and colour on paper, mounted as a hanging scroll Artist's colophon and red seals 67.5cm high, 67.5cm wide THIS LOT IS OFFERED WITH NO RESERVE 無底價 安都 鴨子 設色紙本 立軸 款識:庚午秋。安都畫 鈐印:「安都之印」、「悟玄陋室」、「無師寬心法」 - PROVENANCE: English Private Collection 來源: 私人英國收藏 - Born in Beijing in 1963, Andu graduated from the Department of Archaeology at Peking University before teaching himself painting. Initially drawing inspiration from Western modernist painting, he was particularly captivated by the use of color in Post-Impressionism. Subsequently, he delved into the study of traditional Chinese landscape painting, channeling the "spirit of literati painting" and embodying the essence of Zen Buddhism. Although Andu's landscape paintings share similarities with those of ancient literati who emphasized simplicity, lightness, and sparseness, they also diverge significantly. Instead, Andu's art seeks to capture the state of unity between humanity and nature, exemplified by the dense artistic conception of mountains and rivers. -Click here to share:Request a condition report
