AN ELABORATE AND HIGHLY CARVED CHINESE LIQUOR CABINET

The highly carved and highly convertible rosewood cabinet is intricately carved with scenes of airborne dragons chasing the flaming pearl among floating cloud motifs on every flat surface except the top. All of the aforementioned flat surfaces are actually doors that open to storage for stemware, decanters and other barware.

The hefty carved hardwood cabinet with rounded sides and lift top is raised on four ball and (dragon) claw feet.

The image of Chinese dragons chasing a flaming pearl can be traced back to ancient Chinese mythology and folklore. Dragons were often associated with the heavens and held special significance while the flaming pearl, depicted as emitting light, represents the illumination of wisdom and enlightenment.
