AN EMBROIDERED REDDISH-BROWN SILK DRAGON ROUNDEL, LATE QING DYNASTY

The roundel is worked in couched gold thread with a leaping, five-clawed, front-facing dragon protecting a flaming pearl amidst flames and ruyi-shaped clouds interspersed with bats and Buddhist emblems above crashing waves, all worked in blue, ochre, green, and red silk thread.
Roundel: 1/2 in. (24.2 cm.) diam., wood frame: 18 x 18 in. (45.7 x 45.7 cm.)

CONDITION REPORT:

We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after its initial manufacture.
-The roundel appears to be in overall good condition for its age, faded overall as expected.
-It has not been inspected outside of the frame.
