Opaque pigments heightened with silver and gold on paper, the vertical composition portraying a heavily bejewelled, haloed local ruler on his chestnut steed in full parade attire with silver bell necklaces and braided mane, flanked by two attendants holding white fly whisks, the scene set against a vegetal green ground and encased within black, ochre yellow and white rules and bright red borders, the verso with twelve lines of washed black ink Devanagari inscriptions, 28cm x 22.5cm.
Provenance: Italian private collection since the early 2000s.
