Note: This artefact, along with lot 1742 (and those previously offered), was put forward to Falkirk Museums for analysis in the 1980s. Subsequent to this, the collection was put to Judith Swaddling of the British Museum, who composed a short report on the artefacts in 1985. Copies of the relevant correspondence - including an extract of the British Museum report - are pictured here for reference.
