AN EXCELLENT KOSHIRAE WITH SEA SHELL THEMED AND AN ADDED DRAGON TSUBA

With NTHK-NPO Kanteisho to the shinshinto era, mumei. Kozuka, kogai, fuchi, kashira, are themed about sea shells, conches, and clamshells, with seaweed accented in gold dots on a nanako ground. Tsuba with a gold rope rim and depicting a dragon amongst clouds on a nanko ground, clever executed "through" parts of the tsuba, but of somewhat lesser quality; museum number 1976.28.5 concealed by seppa. Menuki depicting leaves and florals interwoven with a scroll with kanji. With NBTHK worksheet dated February 23rd, 2016, assigning a score of 78. CONDITION: Very good, with some minor handling marks throughout. Foil is peeling at seppa, and tsuba has some rubs, noticeable at clouds.
