AN INDO-PORTUGUESE ROSEWOOD AND EBONY CASKET, GOA, 17TH CENTURY

inlaid with ivory dots and floral motifs in ebony, on later feet
16cm. high, 34.5cm. wide, 24.5cm. deep; 6¼in., 1ft. 1½in., 9¾in.

Condition Report:
Attractive surface, old repairs notably to front. Top with burn (approx. 1.5cm. diam.). Drawer lacking handle. Escutcheon appears later. Bracket feet later but well done. Repairs, which include patches to veneers, appear to have great age.
