An interesting sabre of unusual typology
dating: late 18th Century provenance: India, Curved, single-and short false-edged blade (of European production?), with thin fuller next to the back, bordered with a series of curved dashes, remains of engravings, also at the base. Nice, bronze hilt with big shell-guard, adorned with fluted decorations and flowers in bass-relief. Short, straight quillons ending in lobes faced downwards, the guard with knots and central decoration with overturn 'C'. Round grip, upper part finely decorated with in-the-round dragon's head with neck covered with relieved leaves. India or Ceylon. length 77,5 cm.
