AN IRIDESCENT AMMONITE, CANADA
The 5¼ inch Placenticeras interclare from the upper Cretaceous, Bearpaw formation (75-72 million years ago), with well preserved horns, the whole specimen showing strong iridescences of red, orange, green, with purple to the outer chamber, placed in matrix.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In excellent condition having been professionally prepped in Canada. As with all of these specimens the ammonite has been stabilised and placed in the matrix, which has later been chipped to the bottom edge and restabilised. The matrix is also stabilised and then painted to match it to its original colour.
