AN IRISH GEORGE III MAHOGANY CIRCULAR CONCENTRIC EXTENDING DINING TABLECIRCA 1800With six additional leaves, stamped to the underside of the base 'R&JS, 14 GEORGE ST LIMERICK'70.5cm high, the top 146cm diameter (excluding leaf additions), the top 190cm diameter (including leaf additions)Provenance: The Private Collection of Sir David and Lady Scholey. Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Some old splits and chips. Some minor additional dark marks to the top. Slight movement within top. When the additional leaves are secured in position the joins do not perfectly align. There are gaps between some of the leaves and the table, but all stay in position. The leaves have also a slight droop and some adjustment with be required for the leaves to sit flat. The metal brackets and wingnuts to the underside of the top securing the stretchers are later. Some evidence of old worm to the block at the top of the stem. Some later screw to the underside of the top. Larger split to the bottom of the stem at one side.
