with a coat of arms within a Rococo foliate cartouche surrounded by a band of contemporary flat-chased trailing flowers, the border chased with scrolls and shells below a gadroon rim interrupted by shells and foliate motifs, on four ball and claw feet, twice stamped with maker's mark and 'STERLING' - 42cm diameter, 1565gr (50oz) - Provenance: James McCann (1840-1904), Irish nationalist MP and stockbroker, of Simmonscourt Castle, Ballsbridge, Dublin and the Ardsallagh estate, Navan, Co.
