AN IRON 'HOWLING TOM CAT' SHOOTING GALLERY TARGET
The thick early 20th century cast iron silhouette of a sitting tom cat with circular opening to suggest a mouth with teeth, this particular form can be attributed to both Evans and Dickman (see Figures 4.13, 6.13 and 6.14 in Sellers' book). Pictured on page 19 of Dickman's 1921 Catalog E as being a 'Howling Tom', the Evans firm also advertises a similar figure on page 80 of its undated 1930s Park and Equipment Catalog as being a 'Novelty Target' with a part number of 20F58 and in another catalog as part number 20EH58.
