AN ISLAMIC INSCRIBED AGATE TALISMANIC SEAL STONE.
An oval talismanic seal stone crafted from a translucent yellow-orange agate. The face of the stone is meticulously carved in relief with Arabic calligraphy arranged within three horizontal registers separated by fine groundlines. The inscription contains the Nad-e-Ali prayer, a well-known Shi'a invocation praising and calling upon Ali. The background of the script is recessed, creating a textured ground that contrasts with the polished surfaces of the raised lettering.
Condition Report:
The seal stone is in good condition, showing sharp definition to the calligraphic carving. There is minor surface wear consistent with age and use, with no visible chips, cracks, or significant damage apparent from the photograph.
