AN ITALIAN CARVED AND POLYCHROME CRÈCHE OF LARGE SIZE THE FIGURES NAPLES 18TH CENTURY AND LATER, THE ARCHITECTURAL SETTING 20TH CENTURY The tallest figure 38.6cm, the architectural setting 141.5cm high, 97cm wide, 79cm deepProvenance: Sotheby's New York, where purchased by Count Manfredi della Gherardesca, 16th April 2004, Lot 26 Condition Report: As per cataloguing- figures are 18th century and later- clothing and decorative features for the figures a mix of period and later repairs/replacements. Most if not all with later repairs and retouching to painted decoration. The stand with shrinkage faults, ornamentation repairs, small breaks and losses and sections of the wood with evidence of woodworm which looks to be live. Edge wear and scuffs to base and top edges. Please see additional images for visual references to condition which form part of this condition report. All lots are available for inspection and Condition Reports are available on request. However, all lots are of an age and type which means that they may not be in perfect condition and should be viewed by prospective bidders; please refer to Condition 6 of the Conditions of Business for Buyers.
