AN ITALIAN CARVED GILWOOD CENTER TABLE LATE 19TH CENTURY

with a Chinese lacquer top, 18th century, re-gilt
77.5cm. high, 100cm. wide, 56cm. deep; 2ft. 6½in., 3ft. 3¼in., 1ft. 10in.

Condition Report:
In overall good restored condition. As stated in the printed catalogue, it has been re-gilt. Minor rubbing to gilding. Generally with minor scratches throughout and chips to carvings, especially along the edges as to be expected given age and use. Some mouldings show signs of break, all of which have been repaired. Evidence of an old woodworm activity, which no longer appears to be active. Strengthening blocks to the corners. Sold with a glass protective top, although japanned top with minor losses and cracks to lacquer surface (see additional images online). Well drawn and well carved, a charming table.
