AN ITALIAN CARVED WALNUT CASSONE LATE 17TH / EARLY 18TH CENTURY 56cm high, 161cm wide, 49cm deep Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips and splits. Of polished appearance. The top of the wood paler in colour and with some additional dark scratches. Some later screws present. Old filler disguises the fitment to the top of the lid. Rear feet are possibly original but could be later replacements.Lock is missing, no key present. No significant fragmentary losses as a result of the old worm. The bottom board with one large cosmetic split running two-thirds of its length.
