AN UNUSUAL MAHOGANY LIBRARY CHAIR FIRST HALF 19TH CENTURYThe brass casters stamped 'LEWT PATENT'91cm high, 52cm wide, 53cm deep overall Condition Report: Chair with marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. Old chips and splits. As illustrated the chair is without upholstery and the underlying padding and fabric is to the seat and back - both are untidy. The rear of the back is upholstered in green fabric but this is untidy with wear, fading, tears and sections of piping detached or lacking. Evidence of old worm to seat rails. Various old tack holes where upholstery once sat. Two vacant old screw holes to the rear of both front legs. Slight movement within frame but chair is structurally solid overall.
