Antique souvenir plate from the First World War, with a dedication on the back to Erich Ludendorff, (b. 1865 to 1937).
Signed by brigade commander General Oberst Freiherr von Armsdorf and dated 1918.
In the middle of the plate is a grisaille painting depicting a woman who is about to light a cannon. A man (presumably dead) is lying on the cannonballs at her feet.
The depiction is the motif of Augustina de Aragón by Rafael Paló Rollo.
A border of roses in different colors runs around the plate.
The back is labelled and fitted with an attachment device.
Plate height approx. 4.5 cm
