Signed GUSTAVSBERG Studiohanden and ABL, height 28 cm

HISTORY
Anders Bruno Liljefors, grandson of the great artist Bruno Liljefors, worked at Gustavsberg in two periods, 1947-1953 and 1955-1957. From the beginning, he was an outsider who went his own way. He worked in a highly personal ceramic style that was the first signal of a future free-form ceramics. This vase is likely from 1952 when compared with others with the same neck and similar decoration from this year. He likely sketched a form for the thrower and asked for different variations, different heights, etc. They were then decorated in various ways, scraped with nails and other tools. The thrower is likely Dan Malmberg, who had worked since 1949 and finished with Liljefors in May 1952.
