On the verso are many printed clippings about the artist pasted to the board by the collector.This colorful, busy scene of Noah's Ark was a popular subject for this well known Haitian painter. Born in 1934 in Port-au-Price, Normil was a self-taught artist. He began showing his work at the age of seventeen at the Centre d'Art in Port-au-Prince, and developed a large international following. He is best known for such large, crowded scenes, including carnivals, weddings and markets, all filled with people and animals.
