Anna Barbara Abesch (or also Von Aesch) was born on 23.3.1706 as the daughter of Johann Peter in Sursee. She was first taught by her father and then by her uncle how to master reverse-glass painting. From 1729 onwards, she worked independently and got orders from various monasteries.
