Ink and colour on silk, with silk-brocaded borders, one painting depicting the drunken Daoist Immortal Zhongli Quan, the other depicting Dongfang Shuo stealing a peach of longevity, both glazed. The larger 25.2cm (10in) high x 27cm (10 5/8in) wide. (2).

A trip to New York, Chicago and Washington in 1937 was the starting point for Mrs Gret Hasler's interest in Chinese art. This she continued until the Second World War by acquiring objects from dealers in Paris, Sweden and New York.
