ANTIQUE CHINESE QILIN CARVED JADE AMULET FIGURINE

An antique Chinese hand carved celadon Jade figural amulet. The amulet is made in the shape of a qilin, a legendary hooved chimerical creature that appears in Chinese mythology, and is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler. The figurine is adorned with engraved detailed patterns. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
