ANTIQUE CHINESE QING JINGDEZHEN PORCELAIN VASE

[ translate ]

An antique Chinese hand painted porcelain vase. Late Qing dyansty, 19th century. Cylinder shape with pronounced neck and base. The painting on the vase depicts a seated lady with a fan in a garden. A calligraphic poem is on the backside. Marked with a red ink seal on the bottom. The vase was probably potted in Jingdezhen where imperial kilns of the Ming 1368 to 1644 and Qing 1644 to 1911 dynasties were located. It was then sent north to Beijing to be decorated by court painters. The painting on the vase was minutely drawn in fine enamel glass paste colors. The modeling of the figures, especially the faces and hands, as well as the rendering of the shrubs in the background, reveal an awareness of European painting techniques. This reflects the influence of Jesuit painters such as Giuseppe Castiglione, 1688 to 1766, who were active at the court. Collectible Oriental Asian Porcelain Ware, Decor.

Dimensions: H 6 1/8 in. All measurements are approximate.
Condition Report: Overall good antique condition. Signs of wear and Age. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
