ANTIQUE JAPANESE MEIJI ERA CLOISONNE ENAMEL PLATE
A small antique Japanese late Meiji era decorative enamel over copper plate. The interior of the plate is adorned with a polychrome design of cranes in a pond landscape with blossoming flowers and plants made in the Cloisonne technique. The border features butterfly, floral and foliage motifs made in the same technique. The backside is decorated with a foliate scroll ornament and flower rondels on a turquoise ground made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: the late 19th to the early 20th century.
