ANTIQUE TURKMEN TEKKE PARCEL-GILT SILVER TEMPLE ORNAMENTS, PAIR, the cut-out plaque faces decorated with fire-gilded ornaments centering a table-cut rectangular carnelian flanked by facet-cut table glass stones, each secured within hand-crimped bezels, the aprons hung with heavy fringe chains terminating in cast dome-shaped bell charms, each back with a wire attachment loop. Of unknown silver fineness. Unmarked, as is characteristic of the period's nomadic tribal craftsmanship. Probably Merv Oasis or the Transcaspia region. Total weight: 98.10 grams. Late 19th/early 20th century. 6" L, 1 5/8" W.
