Signed and located "Paris" in the lower right corner. This work was exhibited at the Salon de Paris in 1882, with the number 495. This work is mentioned in the book "One hundred years of painting in Spain and Portugal Volume 2", page 43. After the death of Henry III in 1589, Henry IV, who was trying to regain his kingdom, organized the siege of Paris, then under the control of the League. The resistance began and on May 14, 1590, under the orders of the Bishop of Senlis and a priest of Saint Jacques de la Boucherie, a procession of armed monks parades through the streets of the capital. The siege was maintained until the arrival of Alexander Farnese's troops, forcing Henry IV to retreat. .Oil on canvas
