Signature and date in the lower right, 'Ralf Ostern 1965' Titel in the centre, bottom, `Besuch bei Jurgen und Sabine` Pictured are Penck himself (3rd from right 'R') and his friends Sabine (3rd from left) and Jürgen (far left) Schweinebraden, among others. Dresden 1965, Penck (then Ralf Winkler) was friends with the Schweinebraden couple, important high society figures and art collectors. Penck made drawings for his friends and personal thank you notes for dinners and sleepovers. As is the case with this piece. The friendship between the couple and Penck is described in detail in the book ''Sein und Wesen - Der unbekannte A. R. Penck”, from 2008. On page 19 is this work.
