signed with the artist's monogram, stamped with the Valsuani foundry mark and numbered '3.' (on the top of the base)
bronze with dark brown patina
11.5cm (4 1/2 in). high
Conceived in 1902, this bronze version cast by the Valsuani foundry in the artist's lifetime in a numbered edition of which three are recorded.
The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Olivier Lorquin. This work will be included in the forthcoming Aristide Maillol catalogue raisonné of sculptures, currently being prepared.
